Tool Drop Prevention Kit

Overview

Formetco tool drop prevention gear is designed to protect people and property from dropped tools when working at above heights. Rather than relying on a single pouch or bucket to contain everything, this kit gives individual tools their own tether and attachment points. These work great when paired with the Formetco SafetySelect Tool Pouch and 5 Gal. Vinyl Transport Bucket, rounding out a full system for carrying and securing tools at height.

Elastic Tool Tether Lanyard

The kit includes a 36” elastic tool tether lanyard fitted with a twist lock carabiner. The elastic construction lets the lanyard stretch to reach where a tool is being used and then retract when it’s not, while the twist lock carabiner gives a secure connection point.

Tool Wrap Tape

A roll of 1”x10’ self-adhering tool wrap tape is included for adding an attachment point directly to a tool that doesn’t already have one, letting crews outfit existing hand tools for tethering rather than having to replace them.

D-Ring Attachment Points

A D-Ring tool attachment point and an adjustable wrist band with its own D-Ring give two more ways to anchor a tether close to the body or directly to a tool, depending on what’s being used and how it’s held during the task.

Cordless Drill Battery Holster

A cordless drill battery holster is also included, giving a dedicated, secured place to carry a spare battery at height rather than leaving it loose in a pouch or pocket where it could work its way free.

Why It Matters

A tool that slips from a worker’s grip at height doesn’t just have to be replaced — it becomes a falling object hazard to anyone or anything below the structure. Giving each individual tool, and even a spare drill battery, its own attachment point closes the gap that a pouch or bucket alone can leave, since those items are typically only secured when they’re actually inside the container.
