Save-A-Pole

Overview

Save-A-Pole is a protective sleeve system designed to protect and strengthen both new and old wood poles used in billboard and outdoor structure applications. Wood poles are a long-term structural investment, and Save-A-Pole is built to extend the useful life of that investment by reinforcing the pole where it needs it most.

Construction

The system is made of durable 20-gauge sheet metal with a G-90 galvanized coating, giving it corrosion resistance suited to long-term outdoor exposure. Because it’s galvanized rather than left as bare steel, the sleeve is built to resist rust over years of exposure to rain, humidity, and ground moisture — the same conditions that gradually weaken an unprotected wood pole.

Fit and Installation

Save-A-Pole is designed to fit any wood pole from 6” to 14” in diameter, covering a wide range of pole sizes already in service across a structure inventory. It’s secured using 4 included stainless steel straps and bolt clamps, and it’s available in 6’ and 8’ lengths depending on how much of the pole needs to be covered and reinforced. Because the sleeve is offered in set diameters and lengths, crews can match it to the pole in the field rather than having to fabricate a custom fix on site.

Why It Matters

A sleeve like Save-A-Pole is meant to reinforce a pole directly, whether it’s being installed on a new pole as a preventive measure or fitted onto an existing pole that’s already showing wear. Because the straps and clamps are stainless steel, the hardware holding the sleeve in place is built to resist corrosion right alongside the galvanized sleeve itself, rather than becoming the weak point in the system.
