Overview
The Formetco Ladder Grab delivers 100% hookup from ground to deck, giving billboard crews a safe, seamless, and simple way to move up and down fixed ladders. It is the only system designed for the billboard market by billboard safety experts, built specifically around the demands of climbing structures and catwalks that billboard technicians face every day.
Safe Mount
The Ladder Grab’s mounting hardware is located behind the ladder rungs, creating a safer climb with greater ladder access area. Because the hardware sits out of the direct path of the climber’s hands and feet, this placement minimizes clothing catches and reduces bodily harm such as cuts, scrapes, and bruising from striking obtrusive hardware during a climb. For a crew working at height, keeping the rung area clear of hazards is a small design choice with a real day-to-day safety impact.
Seamless Journey
Whether ascending or descending, the Ladder Grab’s cable guides are designed to allow the cable sleeve to pass through with ease, providing a seamless journey from connection point to disconnect. This design innovation allows the climber to keep both hands free to focus on climbing, which matters most on long ladder runs up to a billboard deck.
Simple Install
The top bracket rests on the ladder rungs, making this the fastest and most cost-effective installation of any system available today. For crews responsible for outfitting multiple structures, that install speed translates directly into less time spent on setup and more time on productive work.

- Works with 7×19 galvanized or stainless-steel cable with 3/8” diameter, allowing crews to match cable type to their structure’s exposure and corrosion-resistance needs
- Can be purchased with or without cable (cable must meet system specifications), giving buyers flexibility if cable is already on hand or needs to be sourced separately
- Can be used with two climbers, supporting crews that need to move personnel up and down together rather than one at a time
