Overview
The Invisible Frame System gives billboard and wall-mounted advertising a tight, clean “floating” appearance by tensioning copy behind the frame itself, concealing all of the mounting hardware from view. The result is a finished panel where the copy appears to float on the surface, with no visible brackets, straps, or hardware breaking up the image — a look that keeps the viewer’s attention on the copy itself rather than the hardware holding it in place.
Low-Profile, Concealed Hardware
The frame sits off the wall only 3 inches, keeping the overall installation slim while still leaving enough depth to properly tension the copy behind it. Because the tensioning hardware is hidden behind the frame rather than exposed on the surface, the system delivers a noticeably cleaner look than exposed-hardware mounting methods.
Mountable Across Surfaces, Scalable in Size
The Invisible Frame System is mountable on a variety of surfaces, giving it flexibility across different building and structure types, and it’s customizable up to 750 sq. ft. — allowing it to scale from smaller wall installations up to large-format applications. Note that the system does not include mounting hardware for walls; Formetco recommends referring to your installer for the appropriate anchors for the specific surface being used.
Fast, Tool-Light Copy Changes
Copy is finished with pole pockets and can be changed out quickly using nothing more than a cordless drill, keeping copy rotations efficient for crews managing multiple structures. The system is rated to stretch and secure copy as large as 14′ × 48′ completely wrinkle-free, and it includes Fiberglass Gripper Bars as part of the tensioning hardware to help hold copy taut and evenly stretched across the frame.
Simplifying Installation Hardware
By eliminating the need for ratchet straps, grommets, cables, bungee cords, and spring hooks, the Invisible Frame System reduces both the number of parts a crew has to manage on site and the points of failure that come with traditional tensioning methods — while still delivering the wrinkle-free, professional finish those methods are meant to achieve. With fewer loose components involved in each install, crews also spend less time tracking down individual pieces of hardware before a copy change can begin.
Scaling to the Project
Because the system can be customized up to 750 sq. ft. and mounts to a variety of surfaces, it’s suited to everything from a single wall placement to large-format installations, all while keeping the same clean, hardware-free appearance regardless of scale.
