Overview
The Formetco Select Ultralight Nonconductive Harness is a nonconductive safety harness built for crews working at height in environments where electrical hazards are a real possibility, particularly welding applications on billboard and outdoor-advertising structures. Formetco full body harnesses distribute fall arrest forces across the shoulders, upper thighs, chest, and pelvis, spreading the load of a fall arrest event across multiple points of the body rather than concentrating it in one place.

Kevlar Webbing for Heat and Flame Exposure
The harness webbing is 100% Kevlar® DuPont™, heat resistant and flame retardant for a 700 degree char temperature — a property that makes it ideal for welding applications, where sparks, spatter, and radiant heat are a routine part of the job. A standard webbing material could be compromised by that kind of heat exposure over time; Kevlar’s char temperature rating gives crews a harness that can be worn through welding and hot work without the webbing itself becoming the weak point.
Dielectric Hardware
The hardware on this harness is dielectric, rated to 9 kV, and is designed for workers operating in conditions where there are possible electrical hazards. Nonconductive hardware reduces the risk of the harness becoming a path for electrical current, an important consideration whenever work is performed near energized equipment or other electrical hazards on a structure.
Configuration and Adjustment
The harness supports fall arrest, ascend/descend, and positioning systems, with a dorsal D-ring, a chest D-ring, and two D-rings on the positioning strap to accommodate different connection needs across those systems. Six adjusting points and pass-through buckles at the chest, torso, and legs let a worker dial in fit, while universal sizing and a 59–140 kg (130–310 lb) capacity range cover a broad range of crew members.
Inspection and Comfort Features
The contrasting stitching color of the product makes inspection easy for the user, helping catch wear or damage during a pre-use check. The harness includes a belt, two lanyard keepers, and an impact indicator, along with padding on the belt, shoulders, back, and legs — padding that matters over a full shift, particularly when the harness is combined with tool belts or other gear. The harness is finished in Blue and built to ANSI Z359.11-2014, the standard governing full body harnesses used in fall protection systems.
