Overview

Formetco’s 24″ Positioning Lanyard with Aluminum Rebar Hook and 2 Aluminum Locking Snap Hooks keeps the climber correctly positioned while working, which allows them to have both hands free for the task at hand while reducing the energy it takes to work in place for long periods of time. On a billboard structure, that combination — hands-free positioning and reduced fatigue — matters for crews who need to focus on installation or maintenance work rather than on simply holding themselves in place.

Design

The lanyard is “Y” shaped, with two aluminum twist lock snap-hook connections that attach to the safety harness’s side D-rings. This Y configuration lets a climber position themselves against the structure using two attachment points at once, which spreads the load across both hooks and gives a more stable working position than a single-leg connection would provide.

The Hi-Vis Green webbing makes the lanyard easy to spot on a structure, which helps crews and supervisors confirm at a glance that a worker is tied off correctly. The High Tenacity Polyester webbing, combined with a minimum breaking force of 5,000 lbs., gives the lanyard the strength margin needed to support its rated 310 lb. working load at heights over 30′. The aluminum rebar hooks and twist lock snap-hooks are designed to be operated easily even while a worker is wearing gloves at height, and each carabiner is engraved with its norms and specifications so an inspector can quickly confirm the hardware meets its rated standard.

This lanyard is ANSI Z359.3-2019 certified and is intended for use only with a fall rated full body harness. As with any positioning lanyard, it should be used as one piece of a complete fall-protection setup for the climber, matched to the rest of their harness and connection hardware.
