Formetco’s camera giveaway contest recognizes students working behind the scenes at game day broadcasts. At Formetco, we’re dedicated to supporting high school athletics—and the talented students behind the scenes who bring the game-day experience to life, an extension of the same community spirit behind our $1 million milestone in local charitable giving. Last September, we launched our second annual Camera Giveaway Contest, challenging high school AV students to showcase their school spirit, production skills, and creativity through high-energy hype videos.
A Strong Camera Giveaway Contest Turnout From High School AV Students
The response was amazing! Students from across the state submitted dynamic, professionally crafted videos, each capturing the passion and excitement of high school sports. Among the standout submissions was Andrew Levine from Creekview High School, whose video impressed both the judges and the community. While he finished second in total likes—just behind last year’s winner and Formetco’s inaugural Student Ambassador, Noah Popp—Andrew’s dedication, talent, and impact on Creekview’s AV program were undeniable.
To recognize his hard work and contribution to his school’s production team, Formetco proudly awarded Andrew and Creekview High School’s AV program with a brand-new camera!
Why Investing in High School AV Students Matters
Programs like this exist because game-day production has become a real skill-building opportunity for students, not just an extracurricular activity. Editing hype videos, operating cameras, and managing live broadcasts teaches high school AV students storytelling, teamwork, and technical problem-solving—skills that translate directly into media, marketing, and broadcast careers. National organizations such as the Student Television Network exist specifically to support and celebrate this kind of scholastic broadcast work, connecting student producers around the country with training, competitions, and recognition. Contests like Formetco’s Camera Giveaway give students a similar chance to be recognized locally while building a portfolio they can carry into college applications or future production jobs.
Better equipment also has a direct impact on what students are able to produce. A new camera means sharper footage, more creative shot options, and fewer technical limitations standing between a student’s vision and the final video—letting programs like Creekview’s continue to raise the bar year over year.
Celebrating the Next Generation
On March 3, 2024, our team visited Creekview High School to personally present the well-earned prize to Andrew and the AV department. We’re thrilled to support his growth and can’t wait to see how he continues to enhance Creekview’s game-day experience with this new equipment.
