Formetco offers two ways we can package and install your digital billboard. Our walk-in cabinet design provides a safe service area out of the elements, spare parts storage, and foam insulated climate controlled environment. If reduced weight and a streamlined look are important, our thin-line cabinet is the answer for you.
More LED's than Industry Standard

With our four LED's per pixel design, we offer approximately 21 to 48% more LED's per square foot and a greater fill factor than our competitors' digital billboards. More LED's mean ours last 21 to 48% longer than other units, as well as a superior and more detailed image for your advertisers.
64 Bit Per Pixel Design

The F4X Digital Billboard provides the most advanced color processing technology with 18 Quintillion colors. Our advanced driver technology is capable of extreme color depth at 64 bits per pixel. This is because we have two Red, one Green, and one Blue LED in each Pixel (Light Point). By also having vertical and horizontal pixel sharing technology, we are 64-bit per pixel true output.
Brightness

The F4X screens achieve 9,000 nits (nits is candela per square meter) with perfect color and brightness uniformity. When comparing brightness, all of our competitors state the pre-calibration brightness in nits. Keep in mind that a screen can lose upwards of 30% of its brightness after calibration. Competitor specifications are based upon pre-calibration brightness because after calibration, nit rating can vary up to 30%.
Visual Virtual Pixel Technology

By driving our 4 LED's in each pixel independently, we are able to create adjacent pixels horizontally and vertically which enhances our display resolution by double the pixel density. It is this enhanced pixel technology that provides our customers with superior image quality at the cost of our competitors lower resolution displays.
Air Conditioning is Not Required

Our engineered heat management system is integrated into each LED cabinet design; you save the added expense of installing and maintaining a HVAC system while not having to worry about the life of the LED's.
Superior Brightness and Color

Each Digital Display is calibrated to 9000+ nits to allow for extreme brightness in direct sunlight. Single Bin LED

Ad-Tech F4X uses proprietary manufacturing techniques that provide superior color accuracies and a brighter, less grainy looking screen with 100% uniformity of colors. This is because we start off with all of the LEDs being the same color and brightness - a process called single binning.
No Factory Color Calibration

Screen calibration is not required because of our proprietary manufacturing techniques that use single bin LEDs along with our advanced Driver technology. The color calibration process will improve uniformity of brightness but will sacrifice the total brightness of the display. Usually 30% brightness is lost during color calibration. Our Red, Green, and Blue LEDs are all perfectly matched.
Automatic Ambient Dimming

The F4X uses Logarithmic Dimming to match the response of the human eye at 256 levels. Formetco uses a photo cell to measure ambient light in real time. We provide a failsafe back up setting to insure proper operation of the LED Screen dimming (Fail safe is scheduled dimming). We also give the user the ability to set the maximum and minimum brightness of the screen.
Service Access & Environmental Control

We believe that rear service access will make servicing the sign easier and make the sign last longer. Many of our competitors offer a quick change LED model with two attachment points that provide for front service access. Over time, the seals for these LED modules will fail and cause water problems. The F4X uses state-of-the-art exposed potted pixels technology for a better looking screen with a longer useful life. The F4X provides advanced conformal coated printed circuit boards which provide a total waterproofing of the electronics.

The F4X LED Screen technology has an IP65 rating. With an IP65 rating a product will be "dust proof" and water resistant to water pressure jets from all directions. Our LED modules have 8 attachment points to properly seal the gaskets to the cabinet. This method is proven to keep the screen water tight when compared to the two attachment points for a module twice the area as Formetco's.
USA Technology

The Ad-Tech Technology is developed in the United States of America. Our software, computer controller system, data distribution system, and LED boards are all designed by Ad-Tech. We can provide you with a long term supply of replacement parts and software upgrades because all of our technology is developed and owned by Ad-Tech. All of our engineering staff is based in the USA and all of our work is done in English. We use a contract manufacturer in Asia to do our assembly work. This gives you the best of both worlds: reliable US technology at very competitive prices. Look on the back of an i-phone, it reads, "Developed by Apple in California, assembled in China". Our competitors talk about product being made in America. What they do not tell you is that almost all of the electronic components that go into their signs are manufactured in Asia.

10 mm Visual Pixels: The F4X delivers an apparent 10mm image. This capability allows the F4X digital billboard to produce a never before seen image while reducing unnecessary hardware elements. This technology was truly engineered with form and function in mind.
Visual Virtual Pixel Technology: Sophisticated pixel re-sampling algorithms are applied to the digital graphics which can actually give the appearance of a higher resolution image when rendered on the billboard. The Formetco/Ad-Tech F4X rotates between two graphics faster than the human eye can register, delivering a stunning image which is clear even from a close viewing distance.
Wireless Uplink Interface: Our digital display signs communicate with our servers using the latest 3G and 4G technology from the world's leading mobile internet providers. The lack of bulky phone and cable lines not only lowers installation cost, but also helps prevent nearby lightning strikes from wreaking havoc on your signs communication ability. Also the lack of a third party installers and overcomplicated necessary on-site setup makes the 3G and 4G technology a speedy and painless out-of-the-box installation.

Our LED's for each digital billboard are produced under the same controlled environmental conditions and only selected from the same lot, color bin and manufacturing date to ensure the closest possible match. Because there are thousands of LED's per digital billboard this process is under the most tedious quality control conditions.
